This beautifully unique necklace contains two lab grown alexandrites. This means they were grown from a sliver of a natural alexandrite which was subjected to the same pressure and elements that a natural alexandrite experiences over millennia. Lab grown alexandrite has the same chemical makeup and properties as a natural alexandrite but are more eye-clean and free of inclusions.
These stones are set in a domed circular piece. The design is inspired by a cracked shield. It is made from sterling silver that has been stripe textured and oxidized. All the detail work on the piece is made from solid 14k gold. One Alexandrite is flush set at the center of the piece and another is set in a 14k gold bezel in one of the cracks. The chain slides freely through the piece.
The chain is 16" of 14k gold filled cable chain with a spring ring clasp and 1.5" of extender. If you would like a solid 14k gold chain, please ask, and I can find one for you. It would cost around an extra $300.
